A course on Alternative Jewellery Making has left me a little hooked on polymer clay (think Fimo, Sculpey etc). This necklace was easy, and is quite striking (I think). Orange polymer rolled really think into a snake (think play-doh in Kinder) and coiled up to make these bright beads. The colour washed out a bit in this picture, the colour is more fluro in natural light. This necklace has been into town with me today teamed with a bright orange skirt, shoes and lipstick. Take that grey winter sky!
Author Victoria Finlay in her book "Colour - Travels through the paintbox" has this awesome quote to start off her chapter on the colour orange. It says "Dance the Orange" - quote by Rainer Maria Rilke. Orange will always remind me of someone in my family! My favourite orange moment in my recent honeymooning travels - this awesome card from the Tate in London:
